Women's Summer Trends 2025

Another summer is approaching, and with it are the beach days, pool-side drinks, garden parties and long walks in the sun. If you are packing for your beach holiday, or planning a summer wedding, then you are probably also thinking about your warm-weather-wardrobe. Here is the breakdown of the of the trends and styles predicted to be big in summer 2025.

Tank tops

Yes, it is making us all feel old that a period of time as recent as the 00s is now showing up in the nostalgia of the runways. However, tiny tight tank tops are iconic for a reason. This shape is versatile, as a plain tank can be dressed up or down in countless ways, so it is the perfect addition to any summer capsule wardrobe. Plus, the brightly coloured, patterned and slogan tanks bring that early 2000s fun.

Gothic-romance

Sheer drapy fabric, loose-fitting dark maxi skirts and maxi dresses. Thanks to current cultural icons in the film and TV Wednesday, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Nosferatu gothic fashion is becoming cool. The best thing about this look is it’s totally up to you how gothic you would like to go. While monochrome, entirely black looks have ruled the spring/summer runways, these items alone are versatile, and pairing a long black skirt with pop of colour on top will add balance to a summer look.

Athleisure

The sporty look is breaking out of the gym and making its way into streetwear and everyday looks. Once again pulling on nostalgia, but this time going a little further back to the 80’s and 90’s. Vibrant shell suits and windbreakers are not only practical for the transition from summer to spring, but a perfect way to look effortlessly stylish.

Suits

From a full tux at a gala, to a button down and dress pants in the office, we are starting to see more and more women picking a suit as their formal wear of choice. There are many ways to style a suit, and with the correct fit and accessories, what you may have previously thought of as boring, and masculine is now just as elegant as a cocktail dress.

For more casual wear, an over-sized dress shirt, is not only stylish, but practical for warmer weather, being a thin and breathable layer that protects your shoulders and arms from the sun.

Fruity Red

Summer is all about having fun and enjoying what nature has to offer. Arguably one of the best parts of the spring/summer season, especially here in the UK, is the fresh fruit and vegetables that come into season.  This season, the colour trends are showing some appreciation for summer’s best snack, the berry. Bright shiny red is all the rage, as well as the iconic gingham pattern, reminiscent of a summer picnic in all the best ways.
