Fun Last Minute Halloween Costumes Based on 2025 Trends
Halloween is just a week away! Some of us have been planning our costumes since last November, but for some of us, the holiday has crept up on us and now we are caught in a panic with nothing to wear! If you are attending a Halloween party, or taking your children trick-or-treating, there is a lot of pressure to come up with a costume that is funny, creative and original. Luckily, every time this holiday comes around, we have a whole new years’ worth of pop culture to draw on for inspiration- so here are some costume ideas based on the trends of 2025.
Elphaba and Glinda
With the 2nd half of the musical epic releasing this November, the hype around this pair is bigger than ever. The witches played by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have become so iconic, that any air of items, one pink and one green, will evoke a “is that Elphaba and Glinda?” from people online. Therefore, these two are the perfect duo costume idea, your outfits don’t need to be screen-accurate, one blonde dressed in pink and one person with some green face paint dressed in black will instantly be recognisable as these two!

Frankenstein
The Guillermo del Toro adaptation of this classic horror story has been anticipated all year! Frankenstein’s monster is always a classic Halloween look, but adapting it into the version played by Jacob Elordi from this latest adaptation could be the way to make your costume stand out this year.

Labubu
These cuddly little monsters have been taking over the world this year. Even the least in-the-loop of us will have seen one of these little guys hanging from someone’s bag, or someone online bragging about their rare and expensive collection. What makes these creatures such a good costume idea, is the fact that they are fuzzy, essentially meaning that you get to spend the Halloween party bundled up in your pyjamas! Juts a pair of felt ears and a painted on goofy smile and the look is complete!
Make the Labubu costume extra cosy with some fluffy bed socks.

Severance
Season 2 of this prestige TV show dropped in January this year, and it has everybody talking. This Science fiction Phycological thriller season is truly spooky, following a team of office workers that are surgically divided into two consciousness'’, one for their personal lives and one for work. This show brings you the perfect opportunity for a group costume, as you and your friends can become a whole office full of severed workers, all you need is some smart office wear and a blue lanyard to complete the look!
Sinners
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners released in April of this year, staring not one but two Michael B Jordan’s as twins Stack and Smoke. This film was a new and refreshing twist on the legend of vampires, filled with lovable characters and an amazing soundtrack, Sinners has quickly become a classic. If you have a twin, then Smoke and Stack would be an iconic duo Halloween costume. The twin’s outfits consist of dapper 1920’s/1930’s menswear, with smoke styled in a blue scalley cap and Stack in a red fedora.
Superman
With the new James Gunn movie starring David Corenswet being a smash hit among fans this year, we can expect to see a lot of Supermen, Supergirls and even Krypto the Superdogs out and about this October. Because he is such an iconic character, there are many variations of the superman outfit available from costume stores, and because Superman has and always will be a cultural icon, thus costume has unlimited re-wear value, making your costume sustainable! Fantastic 4
If you are attending Halloween celebrations this year as a group of 4 friends, this super-hero quartet gives you an amazing opportunity for a group costume. With the amazing year he has had, there are sure to be a variety of Pedro Pascal characters at any Halloween party you attend, but Mister Fantastic might be the out-of-the-box pull you need to win that “most original costume” prize.
